Group therapy - a place to belong, connect, and to know you’re not alone.

What It Is

GROUPS STARTING THIS SUMMER:

  • Facilitated by: Cynthia Fay Gutierrez Marhue, MMT, MTA, RP (Qualifying)

    • Who It’s For:

University and college students (ages ~18–25) who are navigating anxiety, grief, identity transitions, and academic pressure—and are open to using music and creativity to process what they’re carrying.

    • What the Group Explores:

This group combines music therapy and expressive arts to support emotional processing and connection. Through tools like songwriting, journaling, and guided creative prompts, students will explore themes like loss, overwhelm, identity shifts, and finding calm in chaos—together.

    • Why It’s Meaningful:

As someone who leaned on music during my own student years, I know how powerful it can be when words aren’t enough. I want to help students feel less alone and more in tune with themselves through creative healing.

    • Day/Time:

Fridays at 12:00 PM (Noon) beginning July 11th

    • Format:

Virtual – accessible from anywhere in Ontario

  • Facilitated by: Ashley Whylly, RP (Qualifying)

    Who It’s For:

Women in their 30s and 40s who are on a fertility journey—whether that’s trying to conceive, experiencing loss, managing uncertainty, or coping with the emotional toll of family planning and reproductive health.

    What the Group Explores:

This group offers a supportive, therapeutic space to explore grief, hope, identity shifts, relationships, and cultural/family pressures around fertility. Participants will engage in discussions and activities aimed at processing emotions, building resilience, and fostering a sense of community.

    Why It’s Meaningful:

As a therapist and mother who has walked this path, I understand how isolating it can feel. I want to create a space where women don’t have to carry this alone—where you can speak openly and be met with compassion, not advice.

    Day/Time:

Tuesdays at 4:00 PM, beginning July 8th

    Format:

Virtual sessions to accommodate varying schedules and provide accessibility across Ontario.

  • Facilitated by Joanna Gorres, RP and co-facilitated by Shagoon Sharma, RP (Qualifying)

    • Who It’s For:
Young adults in their 20s and 30s who feel stuck, lost, or unsure—and are craving clarity and connection.

    • What the Group Explores:
A supportive space to work through identity confusion, burnout, the pressure to “adult,” and uncertainty about what comes next. We’ll build self-awareness, uncover personal values, and foster community with others in the same season.

    • Why It’s Meaningful:
Many young adults feel behind, lonely, or like they’re the only ones who don’t have it together. I want to offer a space that says: you’re not alone—and you’re not wrong for feeling this way.

    • Preferred Day/Time:
Thursdays, 7:30–9:00 PM beginning July 10th

    • Format:
You can call in virtually or attend in person (TBD depending on group preference)
