Co-parenting and Family Services
Supporting Families Through Transition & Growth
Professional counselling services for families navigating change, communication, and connection
Whether your family is navigating separation, divorce, or co-parenting challenges, building stronger intergenerational connections, or working through communication patterns that no longer serve you, every family member deserves support. At Kapwa Counselling & Psychotherapy, we provide coordinated mental health care that honors your family's unique dynamics and helps bridge generational gaps with understanding, tools, and hope.
Kapwa’s Whole-Family Advantage
What sets Kapwa apart: We're not just individual therapists working separately. We're a coordinated team designed to support entire family systems.
When families are navigating any transition — separation, generational communication gaps, cultural shifts, or evolving dynamics — different family members need different types of support.
Circle of Care Approach
We provide coordinated support across your entire family while maintaining individual confidentiality. Each family member works with their own therapist, and with your consent, our team collaborates to ensure everyone's care supports your family's overall goals. We also offer digital co-parenting tools for legal proceedings and collaborate with your lawyers, physicians, and other professionals for comprehensive support.
Multi-modal support for children and youth
Whether a child needs talk therapy, art therapy, or music therapy, we can match them with the right therapeutic approach for their age and communication style.
All our work prioritizes children's emotional wellbeing and healthy attachment relationships with both parents where safe.
Therapists with lived experience
Joanna brings both professional CRPO training and personal co-parenting experience since 2018 to family support. Our team includes parent therapists who understand diverse family dynamics and cultural backgrounds, helping families build communication structures that work for their unique situations and support their children's wellbeing.
Trauma-Informed Whole-Family Care
We understand that families navigate complex dynamics — whether it's a parent with BPD, OCD, or trauma history, or children processing difficult experiences. Our team provides psychoeducation about how these factors impact family relationships and offers practical strategies to build understanding, communication, and stability that work with (not against) each family member's unique needs.
At Kapwa, we can provide services to your family as a whole and to address each family members’ needs.
All of these are provided under one roof with coordination while protecting individual confidentiality.
This means no more juggling multiple practices, explaining your family's story repeatedly, or wondering if different therapists are working toward conflicting goals.
